Perks of Modern Living - by Hénock Gugsa

Perks of Modern Living

~~~~~~~ // ~~~~~~~
No more typewriters - no need for ribbons, for paper, for white-outs, etc.
Not much need for newspapers (clutter, waste), records and record players, and radio sets.
Writing is easier and more pleasurable because of all the tools at your fingertips ...
     - the ESCAPE key to get out of a tight spot
     - the DELETE key to wipe out, to erase, to eliminate from memory
     - the Select and Copy options to pick and choose what you want to save
       or preserve
     - then, there is the Spell-check ... but you have to be careful with that
       one (cannot handle context and syntax).
Reading* is not as much fun only if the font type and size of the text are not right, or if the background color is bad for the eyes. One good thing for sure - There is at least one all-purpose helper named "FIND" which can also be used while writing and editing.
Listening and or viewing now have a few possibilities ...
     - the MUTE button is a good tool against annoyances
     - the Fast-Forward option is such a time saver because it quickly cuts to
       the chase
     - the STOP or PAUSE keys help you get a breather, they allow you to go
       to the bathroom.
* Exception: I still love the old style of reading actual books (paperback or hard-bound). Nothing like owning a single solid book titled: "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare". I don't even care for any abridgement, preface, index, or appendix. All I need with such a book is a nice, classy book-marker, thank-you-very-much!
