[Editor's note: Mois (me's) incidentally means "months", and  that adds to the absurdity of the whole situation!]

1953 (የኢትዮጵያ አቈጣጠር) 5ኛ ክፍል (5C) ... የክፍሉ አላፊ አስተማሪ አቶ ፋንታዬ * የተባለ እኛን እያንዳንዳችንን በስም እየጠራ "አንድ ዘፈን ዝፈን !" እያለ በግድ ያስዘፍነን ነበር ።
 

አንድ ቀን ፍዳዬ ሆነና እኔን ዝፈን ብሎ አዘዘ ፤ እኔም በ 11 ዓመት ዕድሜዬ አይን አፋር እና ትንሽም ኰልታፋ ስለነበርኩ ነገሩ ጭንቀትና መከራ ሆኖ ነበር የታየኝ ። በግዜው የምወደው ዘፈን የነበረው የጥላሁን "ኧረ ምን ይሻለኛል" የተባለው ነበር።

ግን እኔ ስዘፍነው እንደሚከተለው ሆኖ ብዙ የመሳቂያና የመቀለጃ ውጤት አተረፈ !!!

" ካንዴም ሁለቴም ሾሽቴም ... (everybody erupts in laughter)
ፍቅር ደርሾብኛል ... (another laughter)
ግን ዣሬ አዲሽ ሆኖ ... (more laughter)
ይቻወትብኛል ! " .... ( laughter and applause)

* አቶ ፋንታዬ በጣም ዘፈን የሚወድ ሰውዬ ነበር ፤ በመንገድ ብቻውን ሲሄድ እንኳን ድምፁን ዝቅ አድርጐ እየዘፈነ / እየዘመረ ወይም እያፏጨ እና እየተውረገረገ ነበር የሚሄደው ።
 
Fantaye also had  a cruel streak in his personality.  He used to creatively come up with different methods of physical punishment in the classroom if a student talked (disturbed), got an answer wrong to a question, or had not done his homework.  Fantaye administered the punishment himself in the classroom; he did not bother sending anybody to Gagnon's office.

That man was a sadist; but I have no bitterness, anger, or resentment toward him now. It has all been long forgiven now !

Canada just legalized marijuana and this is just a satirical commentary about a (possible) huge flood of American illegal immigrants invading Canada !!!

My dear departed father had an unambiguous theory about people.
He told me that their personhood is predetermined by the manner they come out of their mothers' wombs.

•    The greedy people emerge with one hand out in a grasping manner,
•    ... the lazy people show their buttocks to the world first,
•    ... restless people slide their feet out first,
•    ... the talkers come out with their mouths open,
•    ... and last, but certainly not least, the thinkers present the top of their head (their scalp) slowly and they begin using their brains immediately!

There we have it all explained away the Ethiopian way!

      He is now a full-fledged "cult leader".

     His followers are no different from the followers of Hitler or Charles Manson. It is especially disheartening and shattering when you discover people in that camp are personally known by you. And some of them were people you thought were more intelligent and sensible. The men are not unlike mind-bent zombies, and the women are like the "Stepford Wives" who parrot their husbands!

     When he orates, he is getting shriller and bolder and more dangerous-sounding by the day. 

     He gaslights all the time ...

     - he tells blatant lies
     - he denies he ever said something , even though you have proof he did
     - he uses what is near and dear to you as ammunition. eg. the flag, 

       patriotism, religion, etc.
     - he wears you down over time
     - his actions do not match his words
     - he throws in positive reinforcement to confuse you
     - he knows confusion weakens people
     - he projects
     - he tries to align people against you
     - he tells you or others that you are crazy or criminal ... and ...
     - he tells you that you and everyone else are liars !

Visualize a placid lake

Focus on this moment

That's all you need to do

Snap back into this very moment

That's all that you need to concentrate upon.

We can't go back and change anything

But we make a different future

If only we focus on giving

All that we have got into 'Now'.
